Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery offers the latest anti-aging skin care treatments to its patients. You can address any of the following skin issues or concerns that come with aging.
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Rough skin texture
- Uneven skin tone
- Hyperpigmentation
- Vascular lesions like spider veins
What skin care treatment is best suited for you depends on what you want to target. You may benefit from a chemical peel, microdermabrasion, IPL, dermaplaning, or a facial that combines more than one treatment to achieve your skin care goals.
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel removes dead skin cells using an acid-based solution. With glycolic, lactic, salicylic, TCA, Obagi Blue Peel, Obagi Radiance Peel, or Jessner peel, the Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery clinical aesthetician applies the peel solution using a swab or brush, and then leaves it on for a short period to start the peeling process.
Afterward, a soothing, protective ointment is applied. You gradually shed the old skin over the coming days as your healthy new skin layer emerges. You can get great results with as little as one deep peel or a short series of light or medium peels.
What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical solution for dull, rough, sun-damaged, acne-prone, and wrinkled skin. It can also help with skin discoloration and scars. During your microdermabrasion treatment at Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery, an ultrafine crystal-free exfoliant is applied, buffing it gently against your skin.
You can also choose a microdermabrasion skin serum based on your skin concerns. Simultaneous microdermabrasion and serum infusion allow for maximum skin penetration and optimal results.
Microdermabrasion removes dead skin cells, improves circulation, and helps you make more collagen for skin firming. It’s ideal for not only the face but also the hands, chest, shoulders, or back. Most patients get six to eight treatments for ideal results. You can even have monthly treatments to maintain peak skin condition if desired.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is an exfoliation technique in which your Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery aesthetician uses a sterile blade to remove fine hairs from your face. It’s a safe and effective clinical version of face shaving. Dermaplaning triggers cellular renewal, and it also leaves your skin open to absorb products. Sometimes, dermaplaning is done before chemical peels.
How does IPL help with skin care?
Intense pulsed light (IPL) treats problems like hyperpigmentation, oversized pores, dilated facial blood vessels, and fine lines and wrinkles. During an IPL treatment, a powerful-but-gentle IPL handpiece sends varied light pulses into both your upper and lower skin layers.
IPL is safe and gentle enough for most skin types, and there’s minimal, if any, downtime after treatment. It’s ideal for mild-to-moderate skin problems but doesn’t treat deeper wrinkles. If you have multiple skin concerns, you can combine IPL with other treatments.
Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery also offers injectables to diminish wrinkles and restore lost volume, as well as Ultherapy® for noninvasive skin tightening.
